New Fuel saving feature of Google map: know how to use it…

Google Maps has introduced its ‘Fuel Saving Feature’ in India, enabling drivers to optimize their routes and save on petrol and diesel consumption. This new functionality allows users to effectively manage fuel usage during their travels.

Previously the Fuel Saving Feature of Google Maps was limited to the United States, Canada, and Europe. But now it’s available to the users of India. It will provide efficient route planning and fuel conservation benefits to drivers while using this popular navigation app.

When active, the feature alerts users to a ‘quick route’ on their phones, suggesting the fastest route. It’s worth noting that while this functionality is effective in offering speedy routes, it currently lacks a dedicated fuel-saving option when not in use.

To enable eco-friendly routing in Google Maps, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap your profile picture or initial.
  3. Go to Settings and tap on Navigation.
  4. Scroll to Route options.
  5. Tap Prefer fuel-efficient routes to activate eco-friendly routing.
  6. To specify your engine type, tap “Engine type” and make the appropriate selection.
  7. Search for your destination or tap it on the map.
  8. In the bottom left, tap Directions.
  9. Swipe up on the bottom bar.
  10. Tap “Change engine type” and choose your engine type.
  11. Confirm by tapping Done.
