Deputy Speaker Election of Odisha assembly will be on 21st of November. Election will be held at 9:30 am on the 21st. The Secretary has written to all the members of the assembly regarding this.
On November 8, Deputy Speaker Rajnikant Singh resigned from his post. So the post has become vacant from November 9th after the resignation of former Deputy Speaker Rajnikanth Singh.
Now BJD is concerned about the upcoming general election which will be held almost after 5 months. So BJD has now started giving responsibility to the party leaders to organize everything properly and thus the Deputy Speaker election is declared to be held on November 21st .
