Odisha continues to experience widespread rainfall, with heavy showers late last night. The Meteorological Department predicts the formation of another cyclone in the Bay of Bengal tomorrow, likely leading to low pressure. Consequently, light to moderate rain is expected today across north and south interior Odisha, as well as coastal regions, with heavy rainfall anticipated in some areas.
A yellow warning for heavy rain has been issued for the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur.
Since June 1, Odisha has recorded 478.8 mm of rainfall, which is 9 percent below the normal of 526.4 mm for this period. While Malkangiri district received more than normal rainfall, three districts recorded higher-than-normal rainfall, and 15 districts experienced normal rainfall levels.
