
In the last 24 hours, Odisha recorded five new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total reported cases in the state this month to 13, according to a statement from a health department official on Friday.
Over 500 samples were tested, with five individuals testing positive since Thursday. All patients have displayed mild symptoms and are currently undergoing home isolation, as stated by Niranjan Mishra, the state public health director. While no strict restrictions have been imposed, Mishra urged caution, especially among the elderly and those with comorbidities. He emphasized the importance of preventive measures such as wearing masks and using sanitizers when venturing outside.
Additionally, Mishra advised individuals with cold and cough symptoms to self-isolate and wear masks. Notably, three individuals tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday.
