
Intense heat wave conditions are prevailing across Odisha, with six places in the state recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius as of 11:30 am today. Balasore leads the list of hottest places in Odisha, with a temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Bhubaneswar at 43.6 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda recorded 42.5 degrees Celsius, while Keonjhar saw temperatures of 41.4 degrees Celsius. Other recorded temperatures include Chandbali at 41.2°C, Rourkela at 40.4°C, Hirakud at 39.9°C, Sambalpur at 39.8°C, Puri at 34.4°C, Paradip at 33.6°C, and Gopalpur at 33.6°C.
Earlier today, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued a Red Warning for Khordha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Angul, and Cuttack districts. An Orange Warning was also issued for several other districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri.
