Odisha to Face Heavy Rains for Next 4 Days

The forecast predicts rain will continue for another four days due to prevailing wind conditions. Additionally, a new low-pressure area is expected to form within the next two days. As a result, the regional weather center has forecast heavy rains for parts of coastal and southern Odisha on the 25th and 26th.

This ongoing rainfall has raised concerns, especially with 16 districts experiencing deficient rainfall. Balasore has the highest deficit at 53 percent, followed by Mayurbhanj at 48 percent, Sundergarh at 46 percent, and Jharsuguda at 42 percent. Kendrapara and Bhadrak each have a 41 percent deficit, while Keonjhar, Jajpur, and Puri each face a 38 percent shortfall. Sambalpur has seen a 33 percent deficiency. Overall, the state has received 13 percent less rainfall than normal, with only Malkangiri district reports normal rainfall.
