A low-pressure system is currently active over the South Bay of Bengal, bringing the likelihood of rain to Odisha over the next two days. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center forecasts light to moderate rainfall across 19 districts, including both coastal and interior regions, starting today.
Coastal Odisha areas will experience light to moderate rainfall from 8:30 am today until 8:30 am on the 21st. Rain will likely drench Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and parts of Mayurbhanj districts during this period.
Between 8:30 am on the 21st and 8:30 am on the 22nd, light rain may occur in Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore districts.
The expected rainfall has slightly eased the ongoing cold wave in the state. However, minimum temperatures may drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius after four days, as per the weather station’s prediction.
