In a significant step towards boosting employment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi facilitated the issuance of over 100,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals via video conferencing on February 12. This distribution encompassed various ministries and departments, including the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Higher Education, Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Defence, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Ministry of Railways. This extensive employment initiative, known as Rozgar Mela, unfolded simultaneously at 47 locations across the nation.

During the event, PM Modi emphasized the potential for youth to carve out opportunities through hard work, stating, “Every youth today knows that he can make a place for himself if he works hard. Since 2014 we have been trying to connect the youth with the Indian government & make them the participants in the development. We have given 1.5 per cent more jobs than the previous government.”

Highlighting the comprehensive approach, the Prime Minister’s Office noted, “The newly appointed individuals are also being provided with the opportunity to enhance their skills through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal, offering over 880 e-learning courses accessible for ‘anywhere, any device’ learning format.”

The ongoing Rozgar Mela at 47 locations nationwide is streamlining the recruitment process for positions in central government departments, state governments, and union territories. It symbolizes the government’s dedication to tackling unemployment challenges by offering diverse job prospects. These initiatives seek to stimulate additional employment opportunities, empower the youth, and encourage their active participation in the nation’s developmental initiatives.
