PM Modi Launches Mega Development Projects in Chandikhole, Odisha

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects totaling over Rs 19,600 crore in Chandikhole, Odisha. These projects span various sectors, including Oil and Gas, Railways, roads, transport, highways, and Atomic Energy.

Among the initiatives, the inauguration of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery stands out. This project is expected to contribute to reducing India’s import dependency, according to the Prime Minister’s office.

To bolster road infrastructure, the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation several four-laning projects, including the Singhara to Binjabahal Section, Binjabahal to Tileibani Section, Balasore-Jharpokharia Section, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of national highways.

Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole – Paradip Section at Chandikhole. Moreover, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 162 km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line, aimed at enhancing traffic capacity and facilitating efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore from Keonjhar District to nearby ports and steel plants, thus contributing significantly to regional economic growth.

Furthermore, the inauguration of the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar aims to bolster both domestic and international trade. Additionally, foundation stones were laid for the Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla, the Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji, and the upgradation and augmentation of maintenance facilities at Baghuapal, as stated by the PMO release.
