PM Modi to Address UN General Assembly on September 26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 26, joining a prestigious lineup of world leaders and policymakers. The United Nations is set to kick off its 79th General Assembly session on September 21, bringing together hundreds of participants, including heads of state, experts, and UN officials.

The UN is scheduling a high-level debate to begin on September 24, with Brazil’s representative taking the floor first, followed by US President Joe Biden and then PM Modi on September 26, according to the official list of speakers released by the UN. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will present his report, paving the way for a high-level public debate from September 24 to 30.

PM Modi will deliver his second address to the UNGA, building on his previous speech in 2021. The UN is expected to finalize the list of speakers before the high-level session, although it is subject to change.
