PM Modi to Inaugurate India’s First Under-River Metro Tunnel in Kolkata on 6th

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the inaugural ceremony of India’s inaugural under-river metro tunnel, situated in Kolkata, is scheduled for March 6 and will be officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking exclusively to PTI-Videos, Vaishnaw underscored the significant advancements achieved during the past decade under the Modi administration in comparison to the preceding 40 years of Kolkata Metro’s inception in the 1970s.

Vaishnaw emphasized the prime minister’s unwavering commitment to enhancing infrastructure and laying the groundwork for India’s envisioned transformation into a developed nation by 2047. The Kolkata Metro project has witnessed progression through various phases, culminating in the recent completion of the under-river tunnel designated for the city’s East-West metro corridor.
