A grand gathering of Indian migrants will commence in Bhubaneswar tomorrow, drawing over 4,000 participants from 70 countries. The city has transformed into a hub of activity, with Bhubaneswar glowing like a bride adorned with Odisha’s traditional art on its walls and vibrant lights across the streets.
The Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will kick off on January 8 at Janata Maidan, organized in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on January 9. He will also unveil the theme pavilion and virtually flag off the ‘Pravasi Bharati Express,’ a special tourist train departing from Delhi’s Nizamuddin railway station.
In parallel, the week-long Chilika Bird Festival is showcasing the mesmerizing flocks of migratory birds to the Indian diaspora visiting Bhubaneswar. Today, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar toured the iconic Konark Sun Temple and Puri’s Shree Jagannath Temple.
After spending the night at the Konark Eco Retreat, Jaishankar explored the Sun Temple at 9 AM today. Senior officials, including the Puri District Collector and SP, have actively reviewed security, parking, traffic, and other administrative arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for the arriving Indian diaspora.
