The suspense over Maharashtra’s Chief Minister will end today. The name of the next Chief Minister is likely to be announced after the Mahayuti meeting in Delhi. The Chief Minister may also hold a press conference following the meeting.
Reports in the national media suggest that BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is a strong contender for the Chief Minister’s post. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has deferred the decision to the Mahayuti leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Eknath Shinde stated, “The Chief Minister will honour the Mahayuti’s decision.” He added that Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah have fulfilled Balasaheb Thackeray’s dream, and the Shiv Sena will respect the BJP’s choice for Chief Minister. Shinde mentioned that he called Prime Minister Modi to inform him of the developments.
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Mahayutti got a huge majority. Mahayuti Mint has won 230 seats out of 288. Only BJP has won 132 seats. Similarly, Shiv Sena won 57 seats and NCP won 41 seats.
