PM to lay foundation stone worth Rs 7,300 crore in Madhya Pradesh today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a visit to Madhya Pradesh on Sunday afternoon, during which he will unveil and lay the cornerstone for various development projects valued at approximately Rs 7,300 crores. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) disclosed that at approximately 12:40 pm, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development endeavors in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh.

According to the PMO, the Prime Minister will launch and lay the foundation stone for numerous initiatives aimed at benefiting the significant tribal population of the region. These initiatives include the disbursement of monthly instalments of Aahar Anudan under the Aahar Anudan Yojna to around two lakh women beneficiaries, providing Rs 1,500 per month for nutritious food to women from various especially backward tribes in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will distribute 1.75 lakh adhikar abhilekh (record of rights) to beneficiaries of the SVAMITVA Scheme, thereby providing documentary evidence to individuals for their land rights.

Prime Minister Modi characterized his upcoming visit as a crucial milestone in Madhya Pradesh’s development journey in a post on X. He highlighted the inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple development projects in Jhabua, scheduled for around 12:40 pm, where tribal women beneficiaries will also have the opportunity to receive monthly instalments of food subsidy.

Furthermore, during the visit, Prime Minister Modi will allocate Rs 55.90 crores for 559 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana and will lay the foundation stone for the ‘CM Rise School’ in Jhabua, which will integrate technology to provide modern facilities such as smart classes and e-Libraries to students. Moreover, he will lay the foundation stone for various projects aimed at bolstering water supply and provisioning of drinking water in Madhya Pradesh.

These projects include the ‘Talavada Project,’ a drinking water supply scheme for over one thousand villages in Dhar and Ratlam, as well as 14 urban water supply schemes under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, benefiting more than 50 thousand urban households across multiple districts of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the ‘Nal Jal Yojna’ for 50 Gram Panchayats of Jhabua, facilitating tap water access to approximately 11,000 households.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for several rail projects during the programme, including the redevelopment of Ratlam railway station and Meghnagar railway station under the Amrit Bharat station scheme, and projects aimed at strengthening rail infrastructure and reducing travel time for both passenger and goods trains. Moreover, he will dedicate multiple road development projects worth more than Rs 3,275 crore in Madhya Pradesh, including four-laning initiatives and the foundation stone for other development endeavors like waste dumpsite remediation and electric substations.
