Authorities found the dead bodies of two policemen in a van, lying in a pool of blood with bullet wounds. The incident occurred in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, causing widespread panic.
The bodies were discovered outside the Kali Mata temple in Udhampur at around 6:30 this morning. Officials believe the two policemen may have shot each other, but investigations are ongoing. A police team arrived at the scene, seized the bodies, and sent them for autopsy.
Preliminary reports suggest that an AK-47 was used in the shooting. Another policeman was injured in the incident and is receiving treatment at a hospital. Udhampur SSP Amod Nagpure confirmed that the investigation is continuing.
The van, which was en route to Talwad in Singapore, was carrying policemen on their way to a training centre. A dispute on the road led to a fight between the officers, which resulted in the fatal shooting. The SSP stated that the investigation would determine who fired first and the reason behind the altercation.
