Rain Alert Issued for Odisha Until July 26

The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has issued a rain alert for Odisha, citing a low-pressure system bringing continued rainfall to the state. This alert is in effect until July 26th.

Today, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for ten districts: Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara.

Similarly, a yellow alert was issued for nine districts on July 23rd. Additionally, another low-pressure system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal in two days, raising concerns about potential flooding in North Odisha.

While the active precipitation over the Bay of Bengal will weaken after crossing the Odisha coast, heavy rains will continue to affect various parts of the state. The district administration is on high alert, especially in Malkangiri, due to the threat of additional rain.
