Rao IAS Study Circle Basement Used Illegally as Library

A major revelation has come to light following the tragic accident at Rao IAS Study Circle in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Documents from the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and the Delhi Fire Department have confirmed that the library operating in the basement was entirely illegal.

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation issued a Completion Low Occupancy Certificate on August 9, 2021, stating that the basement had two staircases, two lifts, two lift lobbies, and one toilet. It was designated for parking, household storage, and a car lift. However, the actual use of the basement differed from what was certified.

Additionally, the Delhi Fire Department issued a fire safety certificate on July 9, 2024, indicating that the basement was used for storage. These certificates reveal that the Rao IAS Study Circle not only violated regulations but also operated the library illegally in the basement.

After the heavy rain on Saturday evening, the basement of Rao IAS Study Circle flooded up to 12 feet. About a dozen students were affected, with three tragically losing their lives. The deceased were identified as Tanya from Ambedkar Nagar, Tanya from Telangana, and Naveen from Arnakulam. Additionally, more than half a dozen students had to be hospitalized.
