Satyajit Samal and Partner Nabbed in Nationwide Fraud

Police have unveiled critical details about Satyajit Samal from Jajpur, who allegedly led a large-scale scam by deceiving women with false marriage promises. Authorities have arrested Samal’s partner, Swati from Patia in Bhubaneswar, for her role in the fraudulent scheme.

The investigation began after officers arrested Satyajit Samal for his scam involvement. Police discovered that Samal used illicit funds to travel abroad. Upon reviewing his bank accounts, they found a suspicious ₹50,000 transfer from Samal’s account to Swati’s account in Patia Mahabir after his arrest. This transaction and other evidence revealed that Swati played an active role in the fraud.

Police further examined Samal’s phone and found a contact saved as “Swati Patiya’s Wife.” This discovery led to the confiscation of a court marriage certificate proving that Samal and Swati were married, which added new evidence to the case.

The investigation has shown that Samal used the fraudulent money to travel abroad with Swati. They exploited women by promising marriage and then defrauding them. With these revelations, police are now interrogating both Samal and Swati to uncover more details about their scam.

Satyajit Samal has begun a five-day remand starting Saturday for thorough interrogation. The police have issued a notice for Swati’s questioning as well. Authorities are also reviewing Satyajit’s international travel records from the past three years and investigating a plot in Puri, registered in Samal’s name and purchased with the fraudulent funds.
