Security Tightened in Bhubaneswar Ahead of PM Modi’s Odisha Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on the 8th of this month. The program will include participation from immigrant Indians, and on the night of the 8th, they will dine at Raj Bhavan. Additionally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend an event at Janata Maidan on the 9th.

The “Immigrant Indian Day” will be celebrated in Bhubaneswar from the 8th to the 10th, with senior ministers from the Central Government, including the President and the Prime Minister, attending the event. Foreign nationals, guests, and officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs will also participate.

In light of the high-profile event, security measures have been tightened. Special forces, including the Special Tactical Unit, have arrived in Bhubaneswar and are stationed at the DG Camp Office with sophisticated weapons.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Police (DGP), YB Khurania, has directed the police administration to ensure comprehensive security. The focus will be on securing the guests’ accommodation, the program venue at Janata Maidan, and key tourist spots in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri. The DGP has also ordered strict security checks at hotels in the region.
