Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her position amid escalating violence in the country over the past month. Reports indicate that Hasina stepped down on Monday and has since left Dhaka for a secure location. There are also reports from Reuters suggesting that she has traveled to India via a military helicopter.
Hasina, accompanied by her sister, departed from the Prime Minister’s official residence, Gan Bhavan, as violent protests continue. The unrest, sparked by the abolition of reservation in government jobs, has led to widespread demonstrations and calls for Hasina’s resignation.

Protesters have defied curfews, marching through Dhaka and attacking the Prime Minister’s residence. In response, soldiers and police have set up barricades with armored vehicles and barbed wire around key locations. Despite these efforts, crowds breached the barriers. The violence has resulted in approximately 300 deaths, including 14 policemen, and thousands of injuries. In light of the escalating situation, an indefinite curfew has been imposed across Bangladesh.
