Veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik recently tied the knot with Pakistani actor Sana Javed, marking his third marriage. Amid ongoing rumors of his divorce from Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza, Malik shared the news on Saturday through a social media post on X (formerly Twitter). The post included pictures from their wedding ceremony along with the caption: “And we created you in pairs.”
Speculations about Malik’s relationship with Javed had circulated for some time, gaining momentum when he wished the actress on her birthday last year with a post saying, “Happy Birthday Buddy,” accompanied by a picture of the two.
The announcement of Malik’s marriage surprised many on both sides of the border amidst swirling divorce rumors with Sania Mirza. Malik and Mirza had initially married in Hyderabad in 2010 in a traditional Muslim ceremony, followed by a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. The couple also welcomed their son, Izhaan, in 2018.
Earlier in the week, Sania Mirza posted a cryptic message on Instagram, reigniting speculation about her relationship with Malik. The post reflected on the challenges of marriage and life choices, stating, “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.”
This marks Shoaib Malik’s third marriage. Prior to his marriage with Sania Mirza, there were reports of a previous marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui, which Malik denied. Allegations arose during his wedding with Mirza, with claims that he was already married to Ayesha. The controversy was aired on national television, involving Ayesha, her family, and her sister Maha.
