A Spanish tourist, accompanied by her husband on a bicycle journey, was reportedly subjected to a gang rape in the Dumka district of Jharkhand, according to the police’s statement on Saturday. The unfortunate incident transpired late Friday night in the Hansdiha area of Dumka, where the couple had halted at a secluded spot to rest for the night within a makeshift tent.
Authorities have confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection with the case. Providing details, Jarmundi Sub Divisional Police Officer Santosh Kumar informed the news agency PTI, stating, “The incident of gangrape occurred on Friday night.”
The tourist couple, en route to Bihar’s Bhagalpur from Bangladesh via Dumka, had chosen to spend the night near the Hansdiha market within their tent. Their journey, which involved traversing through Bihar towards Nepal, was interrupted tragically by the harrowing experience they faced.
