Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita, recently initiated a campaign named “Kejriwal ko Aashirwaad,” urging people to extend their support to her husband during his challenging times. Through a designated WhatsApp number, supporters are encouraged to send their well wishes and messages of support to Kejriwal, emphasizing that each message will reach him, even while he is in jail.
In her message, Sunita described her husband as a “true nationalist” who has fearlessly confronted the oppressors of the country over the past three decades. She emphasized the importance of standing by Kejriwal during difficult moments and invited people to participate in offering blessings to the Chief Minister of Delhi by utilizing the provided WhatsApp number.
Amidst these developments, the United Nations voiced its expectation that democratic principles and rights would be upheld, echoing sentiments expressed by the United States and Germany. The UN stressed the importance of ensuring that all individuals retain their rights and that elections are conducted in a transparent and fair manner, not only in India but in any democratic nation.
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Atishi addressed a press conference, highlighting revelations made by the ED Counsel during court proceedings. Atishi revealed that the ED asserted Kejriwal’s refusal to provide access to his phone’s password, which the agency deemed necessary for understanding the AAP’s electoral strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Despite these challenges, the Delhi High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the same day, affirming that Arvind Kejriwal’s detention did not disqualify him from serving as the Chief Minister of Delhi while incarcerated.
Additionally, Sunita Kejriwal raised concerns about her husband’s well-being during his custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), alleging harassment and stating that his health is deteriorating.
