Terrorist attack on Pakistan’s Mianwali training airbase

Islamabad: Today, multiple terror attack faced by the Mianwali airbase in the Punjab province of Pakistan, according to various international media. The Pakistan Air Force said that three of them were killed in the retaliatory fire.

According to initial information, a gunfight ensued when 5/6 gangs armed with heavy weapons attacked the Air Force base in the morning.

In a statement issued by the Pakistan Air Force, the Pakistan Air Force’s training base in Mianwali faced a failed terrorist attack in the early hours of this morning. The terrorist attack was foiled due to the effective countermeasures by the troops, focusing on the safety and security of Air Force personnel and assets. Three terrorists were killed before entering the airbase due to a counter-attack at the right time showing extraordinary courage. The remaining 3 terrorists have been surrounded.

As a result of this attack, many aircrafts kept at the airport were destroyed. The Taliban affiliated group, Tehreek-e-Jihad has claimed responsibility for this attack.
