Tragedy in Madhya Pradesh: Torch Procession Turns Deadly, 50 Injured, 12 Critical

The torch procession was to pay homage to the martyrs. It was attended by thousands of people. But the accident happened due to slight carelessness. Falling from the burning torch, it caught fire and in the blink of an eye, the fire spread around. About 50 people have been seriously injured in such an accident. 12 of them are in critical condition.

Such an incident has happened in Madhya Pradesh. A terrible fire broke out during a torch procession on Thursday night at Khadwar’s Shatdhar Street. Hyderabad’s Gaushamhal MLA T Raja and BJP woman leader Nazia Elahi also participated in the event.

Before the end of the program, the torch procession started at around 11 pm. It was arranged to light thousands of torches. Half an hour later, people put the torches that they had held at the end of the work. A few torches fell on the tree and the oil came out and suddenly caught fire.

According to Khadwa SP Manoj Rai, some of the torches were tipped over and the oil spilt out of them when they were sitting for the hourly tribute meeting. Soon the fire spread to the surrounding area. As a result, more than 50 people present there fell into the flames. Most of their bodies are burnt. They were immediately taken to the medical centre while the condition of 12 people is critical.

Seeing the fire burning, the race started in the meeting place. Many people have been injured by falling trees. After this incident, there was tension in the local area.
