Trainee IAS Officer Vanishes After Deadline

Trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, accused of submitting fake OBC certificates to secure a job in Maharashtra, has gone missing. Despite being given an extension till July 23 to submit the certificate, Khedkar failed to meet the deadline and has not been reachable since. The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, had called her back and issued a final warning, but Khedkar has not responded.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has registered a case against Khedkar, alleging fraud and terminating her IAS post. A show-cause notice has also been issued. The Maharashtra government had earlier canceled her training. An investigation by UPSC revealed that Khedkar had altered her name, father’s name, mother’s name, photograph, signature, email ID, mobile number, and address to cheat in the Civil Services Examination 2022.

A police FIR has also been lodged against Khedkar. The UPSC investigation exposed her attempts to exploit examination rules for personal gain. With Khedkar’s disappearance, the case has taken a new turn, and authorities are working to trace her location. The incident highlights the need for stringent verification processes to prevent such cases of fraud and misconduct.
