Delhi assembly elections ahead. However, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has already suffered a major blow. Kailash Gehlot, the transport minister of the Delhi government, left the party. He has resigned from his ministerial post. Not only that, he has also given up his primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He sent his resignation letter to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi himself.
Kailash Gehlot announced his resignation through social media platform X. In addition, he has made serious allegations against Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal. He has given the reason for his resignation for not fulfilling the promises made to the people. He also wrote a letter to Kejriwal in this regard.
In his resignation letter, he has also raised the issue of cleaning Yamuna river and construction of Kejriwal’s bungalow. He has also expressed his dissatisfaction with the party. Gehlot said, “In the last election, we promised to clean the Yamuna but we could not do it.”
Kailash Gehlot wrote in the letter, ‘There are many shameful and strange controversies like Shismahal, which make us doubt whether we are still our Adam. Now that it is clear that if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting the Centre, Delhi will not make any progress, I have no option but to part with the app. So I am resigning from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party.’
Assembly elections will be held in the capital Delhi in February next year. In such a situation, Kailash Gehlot’s resignation may be costly for the team. When Alushi was made the Chief Minister of Delhi, Kailash Gehlot’s name was also coming up for the post. However, Kejriwal chose Atushi for this big responsibility.
