Veteran Leader SM Krishna Dies at 92, Nation Mourns Loss

Former Karnataka Chief Minister, Foreign Minister, and Maharashtra Governor SM Krishna passed away yesterday at midnight. The senior politician and veteran leader was 92 years old.

Widely regarded as the architect of modern Bengaluru, SM Krishna played a significant role in Karnataka and national politics. In 2009, he resigned as Union External Affairs Minister.

He led Karnataka as Chief Minister from 1999 to 2004 and served as Maharashtra’s Governor from 2004 to 2008. In 2023, the government honored him with the Padma Vibhushan. In his later years, he was associated with the BJP.

Leaders from across the political spectrum, including the Karnataka Chief Minister, BJP, and Congress leaders, mourned his passing and paid tribute to his enduring legacy.
