
The Election Commission of India has changed the date of counting of votes for the Mizoram assembly elections on Friday. Earlier, the counting of votes in this state was decided to be done on December 3. But now this date has been changed to December 4.
The election commission said in its notification that the date of declaration of election results has been changed after requests from various quarters. The notification said that since December 3 falls on Sunday, this day carries special significance for the people of Mizoram. Therefore, the date of counting of votes has been changed in view of the requests from various constituencies.
