WhatsApp Introduces New Features for Better User Experience

WhatsApp is currently experimenting with several new features to enhance the platform’s user experience. One such feature in development is an updated audio call bar, aimed at improving call navigation within the app. The new call bar, spotted by Wabetainfo, is designed to offer users greater control and convenience when managing outgoing audio calls.

Reportedly, this feature is currently being tested by select users participating in the Google Play Beta Program for WhatsApp. However, India Today Tech also noted its presence in the updated version of the WhatsApp app for iOS. The revamped call bar allows for more efficient multitasking within the app, providing easy access to call controls even when the call is minimized. Unlike the previous version, users can now mute or end calls directly from the call bar, eliminating the need to navigate back to the call screen.

The rollout of the audio call bar is gradual, with more beta testers receiving access as they install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store. However, many users may receive it earlier on both Android and iOS devices. Additionally, WhatsApp is introducing a new zoom control option for its in-app camera, initially available to select iOS beta testers. This update, found in app version 24.9.10.75, aims to enhance the camera experience by offering smoother zoom control, allowing users to capture moments with greater precision and ease.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is planning to introduce new shortcuts for sticker creation, as reported online. The app is updating its sticker creation icon to match its modern design and separating the sticker creation tool from its AI-based sticker creation feature. This move is expected to streamline the sticker creation process and improve overall user experience.
