
Whatsapp is going to launch a new featurefor its Android users. The new PassKey feature is coming in WhatsApp. After the passkey rollout, users will no longer need passwords. This feature will be available to users in the upcoming week.
Notably, WhatsApp has not yet revealed if this feature will be available for iPhone users or not. For Android users, this feature will start rolling out in the coming weeks and months. On X, formerly known as Twitter, WhatsApp wrote, “Android users can easily and securely log back in with passkeys, only your face, fingerprint, or pin unlocks your WhatsApp account.”
What is WhatsApp PassKeys?
PassKeys is generally secure enough to log into any user’s account. In a way, this is Meta’s new password feature which can be used instead of SMS-based Two Factor Authentication. This security option allows login on the phone using the account’s face, fingerprint and picture.
How to enable this passkeys feature?
- First download WhatsApp or then update it to enable this new feature.
- First of all, you need to go to the app account settings, where you will see the PassKeys option.
- Here you will ‘crete passkeys’ option, click on that and then follow the instructions on the screen to activate the passkeys.
