Who is best suited to replace modi in the future? Know what survey says!

Since 2014, when the BJP ascended to power at the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s magnetism has been instrumental in driving the party’s remarkable performance in numerous Assembly elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

With the Mood of the Nation opinion poll forecasting a potential third consecutive term for PM Modi, voters ponder over the question of which BJP figure is most adept at assuming his leadership role. According to the Mood of the Nation survey, 29 percent of respondents believe Union Home Minister Amit Shah is the most suitable successor to PM Modi, while 25 percent endorse Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari closely trails behind, garnering support from 16 percent of those surveyed, backing the Nagpur MP.

The February 2024 edition of Mood of the Nation draws insights from a survey of 35,801 respondents across all Lok Sabha constituencies. However, it’s essential to note the caveat: Opinion polls are prone to inaccuracies. The Mood of the Nation poll was conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024.

In post-2014 elections, PM Modi has consistently remained the focal point of Indian politics by championing the ethos of development and good governance. Consequently, whoever steps into his shoes will face a daunting task.

While PM Modi undeniably enjoys widespread popularity, the mastermind behind the BJP’s transformation into a finely tuned electoral apparatus is Amit Shah. Revered as the BJP’s ‘Chanakya’ for his electoral prowess, Shah’s strategic planning and political astuteness as party president propelled the BJP’s ascent.

Yogi Adityanath, currently in his second term as Uttar Pradesh CM, has swiftly ascended the party hierarchy and commands immense respect among party members. Embracing a Hindutva ideology, Adityanath, despite occasional controversies, has earned acclaim for his robust stance against criminals and revitalizing the BJP’s prospects in India’s most populous state.

Meanwhile, if there’s one BJP leader universally praised across political spectrums, it’s Nitin Gadkari. Renowned as a troubleshooter, Gadkari’s tenure as Transport Minister and his efforts in expanding the nation’s highway network have earned accolades even from opposition leaders.
