Authorities seized 20 kg of gold from an IndiGo flight arriving from Mumbai at Bhubaneswar Airport. The CT & GST teams executed the operation and are questioning several businessmen involved. They confirmed 16 kg of the gold, but discrepancies arose with the remaining 4 kg. The teams are actively investigating these inconsistencies.
Five traders from Bhubaneswar brought the gold, which was reportedly meant for traders in Kalahandi and Anugul. A man left the airport carrying the gold, prompting further scrutiny at the CT & GST office in Valbihar.
On the 26th, the CT & GST team also seized 300 kg of gold and 2,000 kg of rupees at Bhubaneswar Airport. They issued notices to several traders, and the investigation continues. As the monsoon season progresses, traders are anticipated to bring in more gold for business.
