Sadar Kotwali Karvi has filed a new gangster report against five individuals, including Abbas Ansari, the MLA and son of notorious mafia don Mukhtar Ansari. The report accuses them of threatening, intimidating, and assaulting Abbas Ansari while he was in the district jail. The accused include Abbas Ansari’s driver Niaz Ansari from Ghazipur, SP leader Faraz Khan from Karvi, canteen manager Navneet Sachan from Karvi, and accountant Shahbaz Alam Khan from Varanasi. Sadar Kotwal Upendra Singh filed the complaint.
Currently, Abbas Ansari is in Kasganj jail, and the other four suspects are out on bail. In 2023, authorities moved Abbas Ansari to Chitrakoot jail due to a money laundering case. During this time, his wife, Nikhat Ansari, repeatedly broke jail rules to visit him. On February 8, 2023, the DM and SP led a raid that uncovered the scandal. They arrested Nikhat Ansari, her driver, and others, who then faced serious charges and went to jail.
The investigation showed that Abbas Ansari continued to run a gang from jail, extorting money and threatening people. Consequently, on January 29, 2024, Chitrakoot police filed a gangster case against Abbas Ansari, his driver Niaz, SP leader Faraz Khan, CA Shahbaz Alam, and canteen operator Navneet Sachan in Karvi Kotwali. Initially, the High Court canceled the Gangster Act due to procedural errors. However, Chitrakoot police corrected these issues. As a result, they refiled the case in Karvi Kotwali on the DM’s recommendation.
