Bangladeshi terrorist leader Jashimuddin Rahmani Hafi has directly challenged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to break away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule and declare West Bengal an independent nation.
Jashimuddin, the chief of Ansarullah Bengal Team (ABT) with strong ties to Al-Qaeda, recorded a video shortly after his release from prison. His release followed the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh. In the video, reportedly filmed in a hospital ward in early September, Jashimuddin warned that India would face destruction and predicted the Islamic flag would fly over Delhi.
After spending five years in prison for murdering a blogger, authorities released Jashimuddin on parole in August. Known for his extremist views and links to terrorist groups in Pakistan, he called for a separatist movement across India, with West Bengal at the forefront.
“We are telling Mamata Banerjee to free West Bengal from Modi’s regime,” Jashimuddin said. “Bengal must declare its independence.”
Security agencies are intensifying their vigilance, as the video raises fears of potential separatist movements and terrorism threats across the region.
