Atishi will take the oath as Delhi’s 8th Chief Minister on September 21. He will then form a new cabinet. Sources reveal that four ministers from the previous cabinet will remain in Atishi’s administration.
Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Imran Hussain will continue as environment, finance, health, and food ministers, respectively.
Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat will join the cabinet as a new member.
The Delhi government cabinet has seven positions. So far, the names of six members, including the Chief Minister, have been announced. The identity of the seventh member is still unknown, and it is unclear if the announced ministers will retain their previous roles.
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned after his release from jail in the Delhi unemployment policy corruption case. After an MLA meeting, Education Minister Atishi has been chosen as the new Chief Minister and will take the oath next Saturday.
