At an event in Puri marking 100 days of his administration, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the principles guiding his government, describing resolutions as “scriptures” and reaffirming his commitment to prioritizing public interests. He criticized the previous 24-year-old government, blaming its downfall on anti-people policies and the exploitation of religious sentiments for political advantage.
Majhi stated, “The previous government used Mahaprabhu for political gains, but for us, the resolutions of our government are like scripture. We have fulfilled the promises we made to the people in the resolution letter and will continue to honor them.” He pointed out that one of his government’s first actions was to open all four doors of the shrine for devotees and begin the long-neglected process of counting jewels.
Further criticizing the former administration, Majhi added, “While the previous government ignored public complaints, our government is listening. Complaints are now being heard in Bhubaneswar, and soon, this will extend to all districts.”
Addressing corruption, Majhi remarked, “The previous government only targeted small-time grocers for corruption, but we have taken firm action, arresting 58 corrupt officials involved in bribery and corruption.”
The event, attended by the state cabinet, Union Ministers, MLAs, and MPs, marked 100 days of the Majhi administration. The opposition BJ has yet to issue a response to Majhi’s statements.
