Gujarat has faced heavy rainfall and subsequent lockdown for the past few days, submerging large areas of the state. In a rare incident during the night, a passenger bus became trapped in the swift current while surrounded by floodwaters in Bhavnagar.
The Malashree River’s water level surged, flooding nearby wetlands. As the bus, carrying 29 passengers, attempted to cross the flooded road, passengers screamed for help.
Upon receiving the distress call, a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the scene with a rescue truck. They successfully transferred all passengers to the truck, but it soon got stuck in the water and couldn’t move.
Facing this challenge, the NDRF quickly deployed a human chain, successfully rescuing all passengers and bringing them to safety. All the rescued individuals are reported to be residents of Tamil Nadu.
