A head-on collision occurred between two bikes on Kudpani road this morning, resulting in a tragic scene. The bikes crashed on the beach road and burst into flames. In this fatal accident, one biker died in the fire, while two others suffered severe burns.
Ashok Agarwal from Jharkhand was riding toward Birmitrapur from Raiboga when he collided with two people on another bike heading in the opposite direction. Both riders were speeding when the collision happened, igniting a fire that engulfed them.
Hearing their screams, passers-by rushed to rescue the two individuals from the flames. However, they could not save the third person, who became trapped under the bike and burned along with it.
Upon receiving the news, Birmitrapur police and fire department personnel arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. Both bikes burned to ashes, and the remains of the riders were recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
The police promptly transported the seriously injured individuals to Birmitrapur government hospital. However, due to their critical condition, medical staff later transferred them to Rourkela for further treatment. Authorities have yet to identify the deceased and one of the critically injured victims.
