A train engine rolled into cuttak station in Boudh district, attracting a large crowd eager to see it for the first time in Old Cuttack. As the engine reached the Old Cuttack station, people welcomed it with prayers and cheers of “Haribol.”
Yesterday, the East Coast Railway conducted a trial run of the train engine from Balangir to Old Cuttack on the Khurda-Balangir railway line. This trial marks a significant step in developing train services in the region.
Currently, trains operate from Khurda Road to Daspalla and from Balangir to Sonepur. The successful trial has now extended approximately 80 km from Manmunda in Boudh district to cuttak.
Local residents express optimism that the train will soon begin regular service to Old Cuttack, fulfilling their long-standing demands. Many community members believe that introducing train services will greatly enhance their daily lives and provide significant benefits to the area.
