Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the youngest world chess champion D. Gukesh. Gukesh also gifted the Prime Minister with the original chessboard of the match he won and showed Modi his World Chess Championship medal.
This chessboard has Gukesh and Ding Liren’s autographs on it. Modi greeted Gukesh with his parents.
Hailing Gukesh as India’s pride, Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media that his confidence is truly inspiring. I remember a video I saw in which Gukesh said a few years back, “I will be the youngest world champion.” This figure has now come true thanks to his efforts.
d. Gukesh also took to social media to express his gratitude to the Prime Minister, saying meeting him was an honor and the happiest moment of his life.
