Adani Group Denies Bribery Allegations, Calls Them Baseless

Adani Group made a big statement about bribery allegations in America. Adani Green Energy has denied all the allegations against Gautam Adani, India’s richest man and his company. All reports related to bribery allegations are said to be baseless and wrong.

Adani Green Energy on Wednesday issued a statement saying that Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and senior director Vinet Jain have been cleared of bribery charges by the US Department of Justice (DoJ). All allegations filed under the US Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) are unfounded.

Adani Green Energy said that according to various media reports, Adani Group executive – Gautam Adani, his son Sagar Adani and senior director Vineet Jain were charged with bribery and corruption under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Then this is completely wrong.

Adani Green Energy has clarified that no bribery charges have been filed against Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and Vineet Jain in the FCPA. The company stressed that only Azure Power executives and a Canadian investor were charged with bribery. It does not include the names of any officials of the Adani Group.

During the hearing in a federal court in New York, Gautam Adani’s company was accused of defrauding American investors and paying huge bribes to Indian officials to get solar energy contracts.

Between 2020 and 2024, Indian officials were said to have paid bribes worth $265 million (about Rs. 2236 crore) to award the project to Adani Green and Azure Power Global.
