Amul Denies Supplying Ghee to Tirupati Temple Amid Prasad Controversy

The controversy over Tirupati Balaji Temple Prasad keeps growing. Allegations claim that animal fat is being used in the laddu offered as prasad at the temple, and the matter has now reached court. Dairy company Amul responded by issuing a clarification.

Amul directly stated that it has never interfered with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Using social media, Amul tweeted that it never supplied ghee to the Tirupati temple.

Amul further clarified, “We ensure that Amul Ghee is produced from milk in our ISO-certified, state-of-the-art facility. We make Amul Ghee using high-quality, pure milk fat. All our products pass through strict quality checks as per FSSAI standards and reach the market only after full approval. This clarification aims to stop the spread of misinformation against Amul.”

Amul issued this clarification after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu raised concerns. On September 18, CM N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that low-quality ingredients and animal fat were being used in the preparation of laddu for prasad in the Tirupati temple.
