Arvind Kejriwal, the senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), emerged from Tihar Jail yesterday evening after six months.
Kejriwal expressed his joy by addressing hundreds of supporters, including his wife Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Minister Atishi, and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. In Hindi, he thanked everyone, saying, “You all came out in such numbers in the rain. My life is devoted to the country. I have faced many struggles and difficulties, but God has always been with me, guiding me on the path of truth.”
Hinting at the BJP without naming them, Kejriwal remarked, “These people put me in jail, hoping to break my spirit. Instead, my spirit and strength have increased 100 times since my release. I will follow the path shown by God and continue to fight against the powers that be.”
As Kejriwal left the jail premises in a car, Mann, Sisodia, and others on a truck chanted slogans like “Jail ke tale toot gaye, Kejriwal chhat gaye.”
