Will Srimandir’s secret gem treasure be revealed? ASI officials will inspect the gems today, starting with an initial evaluation. The one-day inspection, led by ASI’s Additional Director General, will involve a 26-member team from ASI and the temple administration.
The team has followed SOP to ensure Srijeu’s policy is maintained. Public viewing will close from the afternoon until the inspection is complete. Devotees will exit through the north door after purchasing Maha Prasad and walking the twenty-two steps to the lion gate.
Temple authorities have moved all jewelry to a temporary strong room as directed by the SOP. Empty cupboards and boxes have been shifted to the Niladri Museum. ASI will now inspect the empty gem depositories.
