State BJP President Manmohan Samal has taken strict action following the disruption of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program at Balkhati, near Bhubaneswar. Five BJP workers have been suspended for engaging in anti-party activities.
The suspended individuals are Khurda District President Nikunj Patnaik, District Editor Aleet Kandi, Khurda District Peasant Morcha President Tapas Jena, Scheduled Caste Morcha Khurda District President Shiv Mallik, and activist Dhaneshwar Barik, according to the State BJP office.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 25th, when chaos erupted during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. The workers, upset over not being invited to the event, staged a protest. Supporters, led by activist Dhaneshwar Barik, attempted to disrupt the program. The situation escalated further when Sarada Shatpathi, the party’s general secretary, was allegedly assaulted in the presence of BJP leader Vijay Pal Singh Tomar.
Five days after the incident, the party leadership decided to suspend the five individuals from Khurda district, emphasizing the importance of discipline within the party.
