Governor VK Saxena ordered Municipal Commissioner Ashwani Kumar to appoint Deputy Commissioners of all zones as presiding officers for the upcoming ward committee elections. These elections will take place on Wednesday at the Municipal Headquarters Civic Center from 10 am to 4 pm. Authorities have arranged tight security due to concerns about potential disruptions.
The Aam Aadmi Party secured victory in the Rohini zone after voting for the Chairman’s position concluded. Yogesh Verma of the BJP won the Chairman’s post unopposed in the Keshavpuram zone election.
In the City SP zone, Kiran Bala became the Deputy Chairman, and Punardeep Sahni earned a spot on the permanent committee. Meanwhile, in Karol Bagh, Jyoti Gautam was elected Deputy Chairman, and Ankush Narang secured a position on the permanent committee.
