Bobby Challenges Mohan Government: ‘If I’ve Committed Corruption, Why Haven’t They Arrested Me?’

BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das, known as Babi, challenges the Mohan Charan Majhi government, accusing it of corruption. Four months into the government’s term, Babi questions who hinders efforts to expose alleged corrupt practices and asserts that attempts to revive old cases from less than 15 years ago are underway. He remains committed to fighting for the development of Jajpur.

At a public meeting at Kuaasha Mangala Pittha in Jajpur, which launched the BJD Public Relations Walk, Babi declares, “If he has erred in developing Jajpur, he will keep repeating that mistake.” He challenges the government, asking, “If corruption is truly at play, then why hasn’t anyone been arrested?”

Babi hints at a potential return to leadership in Jajpur. This event marks his first participation in a party program since the general elections. He sharply criticizes the government, asserting that despite Naveen Patnaik’s decision to assign him to Sambalpur, the people of Jajpur continue to hold him in high regard. He expresses his readiness to contest again from Jajpur.

In the previous election, Babi loses the MP seat in Sambalpur, stepping away from his traditional Jajpur seat. He nominates his mother for the Korei assembly seat, but she faces defeat. Meanwhile, his supporter Sujata Sahu successfully contests from Jajpur. Speculations rise that Sujata may resign to make way for Babi.

Amid various allegations of corruption against Babi, the public remains concerned about the government’s silence and Babi’s boldness in issuing such an open challenge.
