Concerns Grow for Rinson Jose Amid Lebanon Pager Explosion Investigation

An Indian immigrant has come to light as involved in the pager blast in Lebanon. Investigators revealed that Rinson Jose, a 37-year-old originally from Wayanad, Kerala, currently lives in Bulgaria. Reports indicate that his company supplies pagers to Israel.

On the evening of September 17, pagers exploded unexpectedly in Lebanon, killing 12 people and injuring thousands. Hezbollah directly blamed Israel for the incident. Accusations point to Jose’s company for supplying the pagers.

Pagers, electronic devices that send and receive messages via radio signals, gained popularity before mobile phones took over. In the 1990s, doctors, businessmen, and emergency service personnel frequently used them. The blast in Lebanon occurred when pagers in people’s pockets detonated.

Reports indicate that Jose moved to Norway for higher education a few years ago and worked briefly in London. His LinkedIn profile shows he spent about five years in digital customer support for the Norwegian press group DN Media. DN Media confirmed that he has been traveling abroad since Tuesday and is currently unreachable.

Meanwhile, Jose’s wife and brother, living in Oslo, expressed concern, stating, “We talk on the phone every day, but we haven’t been able to reach him for the past three days. He has never engaged in any wrongdoing; perhaps someone has detained him.”
