Cyclone Dana Completes Landfall; Recovery Efforts Underway

The landfall process of Cyclone Dana has concluded. The storm made landfall last night at the Habalikhti Nature Camp, with the Indian Meteorological Department confirming its completion this morning.

Once a severe storm, Dana has weakened and transformed into a lesser storm today, now moving at a speed of 10 km per hour in a north-northwest direction.

Following its transition, wind speeds over land reached 80 to 90 km/h, with the Dalka winds gusting up to 100 km/h.

The storm’s impact caused significant damage, destroying numerous asbestos houses and downing trees across various locations. Power supply also experienced disruptions. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced that teams are actively working to clear fallen trees from the roads by noon today, with plans to restore power supply to normal levels by this evening.
